Spend Management

Spend management is the way in which companies control and optimize the money they spend. It involves cutting operating and other costs associated with doing business. These costs typically show up as "operating costs" or SG&A (Selling, General and Administrative) costs, but can also be found in other areas and in other members of the supply chain.

If you're looking to decrease power consumption in your existing data center (and who isn't?), the first step should be a detailed diagnosis. If, on the other hand, you’re constructing a new data center, or expanding or upgrading your current center, it’s critical that energy efficiency is built in from the start. This short IBM video addresses both.
