Who can afford to wait years for a data centre?

The majority of data centre projects today are customised builds. They certainly deliver exactly what you want – but the result is extremely expensive, time-consuming and difficult to scale. Traditional data centre projects typically take 18 months to three years and incur significant up-front costs in planning exercises and design, which alone can take 3-18 months. They can certainly deliver quality, but it's a bit hit-and-miss because each project is a law unto itself.
